Already? It’s only October! True, but early preparations save stress later on. I must be already feeling it beings I had a dream that I was in a store frantically shopping right before closing time on Christmas Eve. In my dream I wondered how I was going to get the presents wrapped and delivered, especially those that had to be sent out of state, so I was much relieved when I awoke and realized I still have plenty of time.
Preferring a simple Christmas with the minimum of commercialism, I typically make goodies and gifts. Not sure what the deal was with the dream as that would NEVER happen to me. I might get a late start on mailing packages but not because I’m out shopping! First of all, I don’t like to shop. Secondly, from out here in the wilderness, it is a major ordeal to get to a store. So last minute shopping is out and creativity is in.
I’ve recently begun posting articles on eHow and decided to write a few relating to Christmas. How to Save Money on Christmas Gifts this Year offers some helpful tips designed to keep Christmas affordable. I’ve also posted How to Make Greeting Card Envelopes and How to Save Postage on Christmas Cards. Later today I hope to round things out with an article specific to saving money on the Christmas cards themselves.
In addition to these Christmas specific articles, I also have How to Make a Photo Memory Jar which is a way cool gift idea, especially for the older crowd. For the past several years I’ve been making fudge for Christmas giving but taking it a step further by making extra and freezing it for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. Hence the article, How to Give the Gift of Homemade Fudge Year-round. I know – it sounds really silly but I was just trying to avoid duplicating an existing title while still abiding by eHow’s title requirements!
Anyway, start thinking about Christmas. It will be here before you know it!
